276 square kilometers of wild life,  archaeological sites , pristine forest  & culture worth  to visit

Formed by two volcanoes rising up in the waters of Lake Nicaragua, the island of Ometepe. The name Omeans ‘two hills’ in the native ‘náhuatl’ language.

The island measures 276 square kilometers and it houses two majestic volcanoes connected through a small strip of land. Madera and Concepcion, the two volcanoes are joined by a low isthmus forming an hourglass-shaped island.

Ometepe is currently one of the destinations admired by both local and international tourists for its nature, hospitality, beautiful landscapes, the two volcanoes, a rich archeological background, relaxing beaches and its numerous natural reserves and forests that enjoy a high biodiversity.

There are only few small lodges in Ometepe, but they offer nice rooms and good service.
